PGY-2 Class of 2020

Brandon Lee

Hello I’m Brandon. I grew up in Torrance, California cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers. In my spare time I love playing basketball, fishing, traveling the world, and watching movies. For me, no other specialty is quite like EM; being active at 3am saving emergent patients triggers an adrenaline spike that combines for an exhilarating one of a kind career. Being there for my patients during the most miserable time of their life is what ultimately drove me to love EM.

Matt Olney

As a veteran of OIF/OEF my interest in medicine began on the battlefield. Witnessing the survivability of massive trauma has inspired me to learn the skills needed to provide these early life-saving interventions to critically ill patients. In my free time I enjoy inappropriate humor, lifting heavy things, riding motorcycles, failing at cooking, and manual labor.

Alex Orman

My name is Alex Orman. I am originally from Canada, but I moved to the metro Detroit area when I was 15. I am excited about my future career in Emergency Medicine. I look forward to the exposure to a variety of disease processes and the team aspect of emergency medicine.

Bruce Wallace

My name is Bruce Wallace and I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a graduate of A.T. Still University-Kirksville of Osteopathic Medicine. I chose a career in Emergency Medicine because I like the fact that you are able to use a variety of skills in order to help your patients. I also have grown to appreciate that instant connection that you form with your patients.

Ryan Adkins

I like biking, hiking, woodworking and brewing beer.
I chose EM because I like the unexpected, the fast pace of the ED and thinking on my feet.

Tej Bilkhu

Hey everyone my name is Tej Bilkhu. I was born and raised in Rochester, MI and I am excited to come back home for residency. I am a big martial arts buff (nerd), I enjoy reading, video games etc. I also like to work out and stay in shape. I find it important to take care of ones-self mentally, physically and spiritually. I chose EM because out of all of the rotations and specialties I looked into I found that it is the most "well-rounded." I enjoy that fact that I will see something new everyday and I also enjoy working with my hands, which is why I love doing procedures. I chose this program because of how rigorous the rotation was and how wonderfully I was received by the staff. I look forward to an exciting year!

Silas DeBacker

I was raised on a farm and am thankful for the work ethic I learned growing up. That strong work ethic translated well into medicine and helped me get where I am today. I enjoy playing video games, reading the news or fantasy novels, trying new things, and staying physically active.

Brandon Fishman

I'm from West Bloomfield, MI. U of M undergrad and then MSUCOM for med school. After working as a scribe in an emergency department I knew I wanted to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
