PGY-4 Class of 2019

Alison Bracken

Born and raised in quiet, beautiful, Northern Michigan, I love the outdoors and spending time with my dogs, family, and friends. I chose Emergency Medicine because I love the challenge and excitement that comes with never knowing what the day will bring and the flexibility to have a life outside of work. Hoping to move back to Northern Michigan as an attending to be closer to family.

Kayleigh Pung (Chief)

My name is Kayleigh and I was originally born in Michigan but went to West Virginia for medical school. I chose EM because it allows me to travel and maintain a work-life balance. I also love never knowing what is going to come in on a shift!

Hatham Shawqi

Technically a PGY-5 I am the last EM/IM resident.

Archana Wadhawan (Chief)

Born and raised in Michigan, hoping to get a job as an attending out
west so I can enjoy hiking in the mountains. I picked emergency
medicine because it allows us to see a variety of patient
presentations, gives us procedures, and allows for a lifestyle where I
can travel.

Brian Wlosinski

A wonderful friend who left us too soon. Brian matched into this program in 2015, quickly shining bright as Chief Intern. In April 2016 he passed away after a battle hard-fought against cancer. Brian will graduate as an Emergency Medicine Physician with his colleagues here in 2019.

PGY-3 Class of 2019

Brandon Eisinger

My name is Brandon! I am originally from Las Vegas and have lived in San Antonio, Des Moines and now Detroit. I love the spontaneity of Emergency Medicine and the freedom it allows. I like being active outside during the Michigan summers, as well as watching movies and having a nice craft beer when it is snowing out. I have greatly enjoyed working with my fellow colleagues in this program and look forward to continuously learning with them throughout residency. My ultimate goal is to travel the world and practice medicine in other countries in need of EM physicians.

Peter Meisner

My name is Peter; I love to workout, travel, meet new people, try new things and play low energy, low impact games like Ping-Pong, Billiards and of course Chess. I love the dynamicity of EM and how you are constantly directly involved in patients' care

Matt Wilusz

My name is Matt Wilusz (pronounced Willis), I was born and raised in nearby Royal Oak, MI. I am an MSUCOM grad but my sports loyalty lies with the Maize and Blue. I enjoy watching sports, hanging out with friends, playing golf, getting pummeled weekly by my co-residents in fantasy football, etc. I got married and also bought a house last year so I'm never really busy. This program attracted me because of the opportunity to train at three different hospitals each offering invaluable learning environments.
